Cypress TX Real Estate
Cypress is located along Hwy 290, also called the Northwest Freeway, just outside of Houston. It’s about 45 minutes from downtown Houston or 27 miles. This unincorporated community in Harris County is home to about 125,000 residents but most of these are spread throughout the Northwest Houston area. Although a smaller community, the Northwest Houston area is home to several smaller neighborhoods and has a high percentage of newly built homes, making Cypress one of the fastest growing communities in Houston. 87% of residents are homeowners and the median annual household income topping about $92,000. 41% of residents hold at least a bachelors degree.
Cypress has been ranked as “very livable” by Realtor surveys, national and local magazines and national research. Most homes are single family properties. Because this is one of Houston’s largest suburbs, Cypress has become extremely popular with those relocating from outside the area and the state. We have a thriving job market, a plethora of local recreation, entertainment options and a healthy housing market, with new homes popping up all the time.
Cypress also has highly acclaimed private and public schools. It’s served by the Cypress Fairbanks Independent School District and is the third largest district in the state as well as the fastest growing on. It serves over 107,000 students in multiple elementary, middle and high schools as well as 6 private schools and several upper educational facilities. These include the Lone Star College and the CyFair Campus.
