Bellville real estateBellville Texas is located in Austin County and home to about 4300 residents. It was named after Thomas Bell, one of the earliest colonists to this area. It’s currently the county seat and offers a small town feel just an hours drive west of Houston. It has a public library, its own newspaper, and lots of fun things to do and see. We have one of the most amazing wildflower displays every spring and it is known as the Belle of the Bluebonnet Country.

Why choose Bellville?

We are not all about beautiful wildflowers and rolling hills, although you will find a lot of that around this picturesque country town. Regardless of our background, we are actively pursuing economic growth whether it’s a retail location, beautiful country home, retirement community, or industrial neighborhood. We were originally founded in 1848 and incorporated in 1927 and because of our desirable location, just 60 miles west of Houston, we are far enough away from the big city to provide that country charm many people are looking for. This well planned community offers a mixture of various cultures, pastoral atmosphere, easy accessibility to major highways and local freeways, and various business interests.

Our unemployment rate is in line with the national average and our recent job growth is positive. Our cost of living is about 8% higher than the US average and we have a growth population of about 26%. Many people that live in Bellville have an average commute time of about 20 minutes and the median home price is about $200,000.

Just outside of Bellville is a unique landmark. The Newman’s Castle, an architectural gem, was constructed by Bellville’s local baker. This unique structure features a 3000-pound drawbridge that is hand operated, a beautiful courtyard, five Tourette’s, a grand dining hall, which can be used for celebration and events and several handmade furnishings and replicas that are likely to be found in centuries-old castles. The Austin County jail museum is another one of Bellville’s historical buildings constructed in 1896. The Bellville meat market is certainly a cut above any other butcher shop you’re likely to find. In business since 1981, it is a popular spot for visitors and locals, and of course, our farm to market produce company has a wide range of all local and seasonal fruits and vegetables all year long.
